Hi readers! If we had a news ticker this is all that would be scrolling across your screen as you tuned into BR&B NEWS: Amazon announces Every Summer After TV show in production, unveils cast; The Love Hypothesis movie adaptation to star Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman.
The Love Hypothesis:
Every Year After:
I hope you’ve had a lovely week. My children were sick all week, but with adaptation news like that and two excellent books to keep me company, nothing could bring me down this week! I read These Summer Storms and Broken Country Find my review for These Summer Storms below, and I’ll be posting my review of Broken Country today!
I am really quite excited to pick up both of this week’s releases! Time of Your Life is a ’90s romance from the author of Magnolia Parks, and Everyone Is Lying to You is a tradwife thriller by the author of The Sicilian Inheritance and my latest Cake with Katie (my “bite-sized” author series) guest. Find my conversation with her below!
Our B.R.A.D. Book Club is alllllllll about the cowboys this month, as our pick is Between the Pines, a steamy cowboy romance that I’m starting this weekend! Yeehaw!

Here is the book on Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, Amazon, and Goodreads!
Colorful Outdoor Plates
I just adore Juliska products. I registered for their bowls and plates for my wedding and use them every single day. When I saw this assorted melamine set, I knew I had to have them! I am also eyeing these pink glasses but my glassware collection is getting a little out of control. Maybe you can get them and then tell me that I need them, too? Now I feel like an al fresco dinner party must be in my future!
NatPat Tick Patches
I know I say I live in Chicago, which probably has you thinking I am traversing the city streets, living like Andie Anderson* on the back of a Vespa (actually, if you’ve followed me for any amount of time, there is no way you ever thought that about me), but really, I live in a suburb that at times feels like country living! All that being said, the idea of ticks keeps me up at night, and these stickers give me a little bit of peace. Every day, I stick one on my kid’s back (while distracting them so they don’t try pulling it off), and feel a little better about the impending threat of ticks. I also like their mosquito patches. They have tick patches for dogs, too, which I learned when I accidentally ordered a subscription of them for my kids 🫠. Here are the tick stickers! Is this my least glamorous recommendation ever? Or was that the patch for styes?

The Summer I Turned Pretty
I found season one of this show just so nostalgic and fun to watch with my sister a few years back. I feel like a high schooler watching it, in all the best ways. My reading often gets in the way of TV watching, so I totally missed last season, but I’m catching up now and can’t wait to start season 3, which released on Wednesday! I have been Team Conrad since day one!! Yes, I would totally buy this shirt!
What is with the children being sick this summer? Don’t they know it is summer and no one is supposed to get sick until at least September at the earliest?? My child has had the gnarliest cold all week also!
And YESSS to the Love Hypothesis news. Lili Reinhart’s content has been SO on point too. She is giving the booktok girlies exactly what they need and I love that for them.
Thanks for the dose of fun on a Friday morning!
Those tick & mosquito patches are an excellent rec! I got the adult size and will be putting them in my golf bag!! Also will be doling them out like candy for our trip to Maine this August. We love unsexy, practical suggestions! Though we also love whimsical plate suggestions too as I feel like I also need those Juliska plates…
